Nominate a Female IT Project Manager! The WIT Leadership Awards

Recently, I watched the Women’s Power Breakfast with Meredith Whitney from last year hosted by 85Broads. I was personally touched and shocked by the story she told on how she never received any form of recognition (even a pizza party!) from her company for appearing on the cover of Fortune Magazine. Employee engagement is crucial to retaining top talent at any company, and it demonstrates the commitment of a company to the professional growth and development of employees. As a member of the Strategic Alliances committee for Women in Technology in DC, I’m happy to announce a wonderful opportunity to recognize female professionals for their contributions to the IT industry.

Women in Technology’s annual Leadership Awards honor the women in Greater Washington who connect, lead, and succeed in their professional endeavors. The call for nominations for the 2010 awards is now open. And there is no requirement to be a WIT member to nominate someone or to be nominated. This is an opportunity to recognize women for what they have
accomplished!

The nomination form is on the WIT website. I would encourage you to nominate a fellow project manager for this award. It is truly a wonderful honor and an excellent opportunity to showcase the powerful female talent we all know exists! Deadline is Friday, February 19, 2010.
